Why Choose Thermal Imaging for Your Horse?

  • Non Invasive. Thermal Imaging is radiation free and drug free!
  • Saves you money! When thermal imaging is used as a diagnostic tool it can localize a lameness problem or sore area very quickly! A full scan (28 images) only takes 20 minutes to complete.
  • Convenient. Conducted on site at your barn.
  • Clearly outlines saddle fitting issues that could lead to, or is causing soreness issues or poor performance.
  • Saves you from investing on a new saddle. Thermal imaging can help you decide whether you really need a new saddle, or whether the saddle you have can be re stuffed, for better fit.
  • Checks for rider balance issues. Thermal imaging can clearly show if a rider is sitting lopsided in the saddle. Correcting rider position and balance could be a simple way to fix a sore back in your horse.
  • Cost effective. Choose from 4 different scanning options to fit your needs and budget.
  1. Full Horse Scan: Includes 28 images. Is great for hard to detect lameness issues, possible back or neck issues. Cost is $375.
  2. Limited Scan: Includes 13 images. Focusing on the horses legs and feet. Great for monitoring soft tissue injuries, or checking the hoof for inflammation due to possible abscess or laminitis. Cost is $160.
  3. Saddle Fit Scan: Great for checking exact saddle fit and rider balance. Includes 8 images that are taken before the horse is ridden and then after. Includes saddle images. Cost is $290.
  4. Full Scan Package: Includes a full horse scan plus a saddle fit scan. Great for checking overall body condition of horse, then saddle fit. This can then be used as a base reference any time in the future if another scan is done. Package cost is $535.

* Includes a full review and report by an Equine IR™ staff veterinarian. Report and findings can then be sent to your veterinarian for further review. ThermScan Diagnostics™ works with other equine professionals to help you and your horse have amazing results!

Example 1: Saddle Fitting
ThermScan Diagnostics™ can set up to come to your barn with a qualified saddle fitter. We do on site saddle fitting evaluations, and then your saddle can be re stuffed to get an exact fit for you and your horse.

Example 2: Rider Balance
ThermScan Diagnostics™ can set up to come to your barn with an equine chiropractor. After reviewing thermal imaging the chiropractor can adjust your horse and also work with adjusting your alignment, so that you ride in proper balance to help you and your horse have the best possible performance.

Example 3: Lameness Issues
ThermScan Diagnostics can come to your barn before or along with your regular veterinarian. We can use thermal imaging to help pinpoint where a “hot spot” is exactly on your horse. This can take the place of flexing the horse in every leg and then blocking the horse’s joints several times with drugs, which can end up being very expensive and irritate your horse further! With thermal imaging, “hot spots” can be located quickly and in a non invasive way, so you can have a complete picture of where your horse is having problems. Further evaluation and treatment of any sore areas, if needed, can then be done by your regular veterinarian.
